In April, 2008, I visited the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia State in the United States of America. I arrived around 8:30 am on a cloudy Sunday morning. I hoped to avoid the crowd, but I had no such luck. Several tour buses were already disgorging visitors of all ages.
I went to the visitor center to get a map of the cemetery, which is essential for navigating the 624 acres. I only had the opportunity to visit a small portion of the cemetery.
In December, 2010, I went back to the cemetery to photograph the Washington D.C. skyline from the front of the Arlington House. From the top of the high hill, a visitor can see the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the United States Capitol.
