In April, 2024, I traveled to Japan for the second time since 2012. This time, I explored the Tohoku region, which is north of Tokyo. This trip was organized and guided by InsideJapan Tours, which also organized and guided my first trip. The small group included the InsideJapan Tours leader Steve, a couple from Australia, a solo traveler from Australia, a solo traveler from United Kingdom, and me.
We experienced a wide variety of foods from convenient stores to izakayas to multi-course kaiseki dinners to multi-course French dinners. We used subways, surface trains, taxis, jetfoils, ferries, public buses, and row boats.
I was very lucky that my trip coincided with the cherry blossoms in Tokyo and Tohoku. A short period of cold temperature delayed the blossoms by a week.
