In May, 2017, I spent six days exploring the cultural and natural
highlights of Vancouver in the province of British Columbia
in Canada. The trip coincides with the 150th anniversary of Canada's
Confederation in 1867.

Downtown Scenery
After arriving in the city, I stayed in the
Listel Hotel
on Robson Street in the West End neighborhood. Downtown Vancouver is
crowded with beautiful high-rise buildings containing offices and
residences.

Granville Island
Granville Island
is a beautiful, vibrant, and busy place to enjoy local
culture, shopping, and foods. The iconic Public Market offers food
shopping. Restaurants and art studios offer plenty of opportunities to
explore.

Bloedel Conservatory
houses free-flying exotic birds and exotic plants.
Opened in 1969, the environment is temperature-controlled inside a large
acrylic dome. Three distinct habitats are maintained in the conservatory:
tropical rainforest, subtropical rainforest, and desert.

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
The very popular
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
attracts hundreds of visitors on the weekday day I visited. It is a
rather touristy experience, but still definitely worth a visit. The
450-feet long suspension bridge sways from side-to-side as people walk
across it.

Beside the exhibits, it performs research, conservation, rescue, and
